Soeur creates pieces that express a modern, inspiring vision of femininity: sincere, sensitive, elegant, free.
A wardrobe shaped by cut, colour, fabric and an eye for precision. The house’s founder and creative director,
Domitille Brion, speaks about its craftsmanship, touches on key themes in the collections and opens the doors to the Paris studio.

“The Soeur office overlooks the Louvre.
The design studio and pattern-making team work together there, so each garment can be conceived,
adjusted and constructed with the greatest possible precision.”

THE ACCESSORY

“Since the beginning of Soeur, we’ve always added a shoe, a bag, a scarf or a hat to complete our looks.
An accessory is what finishes an outfit!”

“Clothes should never feel restrictive. The same goes for shoes. What began with a sandal
has grown into a collection of more city-minded styles, both flat and heeled. Every pair is made from supple leather,
with particular attention to the shape of the arch and to comfort. Our customers say they feel like slippers.”

“Soeur bags come in all sizes, with practical details and, sometimes, a logo.
Above all, they are cut from quality leather, made to last and to fit into their owners’ lives.
The larger styles are for women on the go. Those carried by hand or tucked under the arm are more for the evening.”

THE DENIM

“At Soeur, we set out to create a collection of ‘good jeans’, with close attention to fit,
comfort and washes. Jeans may seem ordinary, but they speak, as much as our shirts or coats,
to our eye for cut, colour and detail.”

“We put a great deal of thought into the environmental impact of making our denim
and our fabric is 100% cotton, with no elastane.”

THE SHIRT

“ A good shirt starts with a good collar and good buttons – the choice of fabric, colour and thread matters a great deal
– but it also needs to be beautifully made. And comfortable. It’s a piece that says much about the philosophy of Soeur:
quality first, attention to detail always.”

‘I love the versatility of a shirt. I like the idea of a woman wearing her husband’s suit shirt to the beach. A freedom in fashion, where you do what you want, when you want. Soeur is like that: what you wear by day can be what you wear at night.’

COLOUR

“Colour is the starting point for all our collections, and what inspires me most, beyond fabrics and shapes.”

“At Soeur, colour is everywhere. We work with its nuances to bring the collection to life. Sometimes it takes the form of a "colour accident", our in-house name for a vivid flash of red or violet in a collection. Or a palette of colours that come together subtly.”

THE COAT

“Our coats draw heavily on the masculine wardrobe: they are overcoats in the truest sense, generous and enveloping,
whether the wool is thick and double-faced or much finer. They change with the seasons and take on colour, notably in bespoke houndstooth patterns, always lifted by a barely perceptible coloured thread that brings the interplay of checks and stripes to life.
Behind every design, you can sense a woman in motion.”
